Cosplay costumes, wigs and props
Cosplay is about recognisable details: the silhouette, the colour palette and one or two signature props. A ready-made cosplay set is the fastest way to get a convention-ready look, and a few upgrades—a styled wig, better footwear, a sturdier prop—make it read as the character from across the hall.
How to choose a cosplay costume
- Start from reference photos and list the three details people recognise first; buy the pieces that deliver those.
- Check the size chart against your own measurements (chest, waist, hips, inseam) rather than your usual clothing size—costume sizing often runs small.
- Look at fabric: stretch knit is comfortable for long convention days, while structured pieces photograph better but need a proper fit.
- Budget for a wig and accessories; they usually do more for accuracy than an upgraded jumpsuit.
Convention-day tips
- Try everything on at least a week early so there is time to exchange sizes.
- Check your event's prop rules—many conventions ban realistic replica weapons or limit prop length.
- Pack a small repair kit: safety pins, fashion tape, a mini sewing kit and spare wig pins.
Frequently asked questions
What size cosplay costume should I buy?
Measure your chest, waist and hips and compare them with the retailer's size chart. If you fall between sizes, choose the larger size—it is easier to take a costume in than to let it out.
How early should I order a cosplay for a convention?
Order three to four weeks ahead. That leaves time for shipping, a try-on, and an exchange if the fit is wrong.
Prices, sizes and stock are set by the retailer and can change. Always check the size chart and returns policy on the retailer's page before you order.
